The Controlled Group has an established capability and track record in the UK nuclear dismantling and demolition market that is rivalled by none.

In 1995 the Controlled Group was heavily involved in the decommissioning of the first nuclear power station to be closed in the UK. The works at Berkeley Power Station were carried out safely, ahead of programme and significantly below budget. These achievements have been replicated by our team on every decommissioning project undertaken.

We were the first contractor to dismantle a Turbine Hall, situated at Trawsfynydd, we were the first contractor to demolish a structure, on a nuclear site, using explosives and we were the first contractor to provide decommissioning studies direct to the Nuclear Industry.

Since then we have carried out over 100 dismantling, decommissioning and demolition projects throughout the UK and have been approved by nearly all the major construction contractors to joint venture with them on all the nuclear sites where expertise, such as ours, is required to get a project underway.

As our understanding of this sector has developed we have been able to develop a coherent quality management approach specific to each individual project, that enables us to deliver a service to the highest possible standards of health, safety and environmental performance

Comprising a significant percentage of our turnover the Decommissioning Division is providing dismantling and demolition solutions to all the major contractors and divisions within this sector. Our aim is to be the number one supplier to the industry; to achieve this we intend to deliver excellent quality and value for money by utilising innovative solutions.
