Explosive Demolition - Caplaw Court

The project undertaken with Edinburgh City Council was broadcast live on national television as part of a large publicised event. All foundations were removed along with contaminated ground. The inert materials were crushed and recycled with the development paving the way for new housing.

Controlled Group had to deal with a difficult 17 storey building that had extensive asbestos containing materials within its structure. As part of the removal process temporary fixings were used to retain the integrity of the structure until blow down day. The £750,000.00 contract included planning and co-ordinating the evacuations on the day of blowdown.
