A major electric cable located only a metre from the building which provided power to the majority of the city and the building was surrounded on all sides by high rise tower blocks and major roads. 200Kg of explosives were used amidst tight security checks.

Controlled Group undertook a consultancy role on the first explosive demolition of a high rise building in Abu Dhabi for 8 years. The 22 storey apartment building was located in the city centre; imposing restrictions on the work being carried out. Controlled Group engaged as consultants to plan and supervise and provide skilled labour to the project. Working closely with Abu Dhabi Police and Civil Defence Controlled Group ensured that the demolition took place safely and successfully
